Character design is one of the things I enjoy the most, below are some little fellas I made just for fun and training purposes.
This are just personal projects, I don't usually put commercial work here, but is worth to say that this style is the one I like more, and that's why I show it off here.
Johann van Grosso
(2010)
Non cute, non pink, non glowy!, Johann comes to rescue from monotony and lets me try something different.
Watch a video, more images and download the blend file, he is also released as Creative Commons!.
Antonio!
(2005)
Antonio! was borned in April/May 2005, with Blender 2.36.
He features
chapter #6 in Venom's Lab!, about Cloth simulation.
Check more images and a "
Making Of" tutorial (with videos!) in
his own section.
Blender file is included on the
Venom's Lab! DVD, and will be uploaded here soon.
Tilin!
(2007)
Late 2007 I finally decided to do some animation tests, results can be seen on the
animation section.
As they say is recommended to start animation by practicing with a bouncing ball, I followed the advice and created Tilin!.
Fraka!
(2006)
One of my favorites characters, he is the result of long hours of testing, started as a simple character but ended up being my 'guinea pig' for all kind of things, from
SSS to particle systems in Blender.
Fraka is also part of Venom's Lab! DVD, more info on his
own page, and he was also part of
Frakas Dream(thumbnail) scene.
Blender file is included on the
Venom's Lab! DVD, and will be uploaded here soon.
Braka! (2009)
Fraka! got his antithesis, and is called Braka!
As main thing it features the use of Sculpt tools (via multires) and NormalMap baking in Blender.
He is also part of Venom's Lab!, on chapter #8 splitted in 2 parts for Grooming, Combing and Shading hair particles.
Blender file is included on the
Venom's Lab! DVD, and will be uploaded here soon.
Firulo! (2007)
Blender file is included on the
Venom's Lab! DVD, and will be uploaded here soon.
Dan!
(Work in Progress, 2007)
A quite simple character made mostly to test the -back then- new particle system in Blender, wrote a post about it:
